History
Smirnoff Vodka Distillery has a long history in Russia. Founded in 1860 by Piotr Arsenievich Smirnov in Moscow, the distillery has gained prestige thanks to its high quality vodka. During the communist regime, the distillery was nationalized, but continued to produce vodka that was appreciated both nationally and internationally. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Smirnoff expanded its global presence to become one of the most popular vodka brands in the world.
Production method
Vodka has been distilled since time immemorial in Poland and Russia, which contend for the origin of the distillate; is a distillate of cereal origin. It is usually distilled by continuous distillation and usually at least 3 times.
