Description
History
The Cascina Sciulun in Bussia of Monforte d’Alba houses the Conterno Franco winery, which produces quality wines with organic certification. The farm, owned by the Conterno family, dates back to the mid-18th century and was enlarged in the 1940s. The company has passed from generation to generation up to Franco Conterno, who has been running it since 1995 together with his wife and sons Daniele and Andrea, who have brought about innovation. The production mainly includes Nebbiolo and follows the principles of sustainable agriculture.

Production method
The vineyards are located on land adjacent to the estate, rich in clay and sand, capable of giving structure and complexity to the final product. After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and pressed and undergo a cold maceration with the skins for about 5 hours, to allow the extraction of colors while keeping the fruity aromas intact. This process takes place in stainless steel containers; once the fermentation has taken place, after a short period of refinement first in steel and then in the bottle, the finished product is finally placed on the market.

Tasting notes
Salmon pink color with very bright golden hues. On the nose hints of strawberry, peach and grapefruit, with sensations of eucalyptus and mint leaves. Lively and enveloping in the mouth, rougher and fresher on the finish. Very drinkable thirst-quenching sip.
Possible combinations
Franco Conterno Vino Rosato is perfect as an aperitif on a warm spring/summer evening. It is perfect for pairing with fresh and creamy cheeses or first courses with tomato sauce. Also interesting is the combination with first courses with tomato sauce.
