Description
History
The San Martino ad Argiano vineyard is located within the municipality of San Casciano towards Cerbaia. Mostly the grapes grown are Sangiovese with some small plots of Trebbiano and Malvasia. Chianti Classico was produced for the first time in 2012 with the mention Riserva, and it is a “niche” Chianti Classico that can be defined as Sangiovese without compromise. Sangiovese here takes on a face that reflects a history made up of millenary traditions, where the purity of the grape is combined with the skilful hand of the enologist Giacomo Chiettini. Very limited production of just over 300 bottles.

Tasting notes
Dark and brilliant ruby red color, with garnet rim. On the nose notes of ripe red fruit, cherries and black cherry and blackberry jam, dried violets, balsamic and sweet spice notes of black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, soft and enveloping, with a clearly perceptible minerality, bright but still ripe tannins and a fresh acidity typical of the grape. Long finish that again tends to spice.
Possible combinations
This Chianti Classico Riserva is suitable for those who love to discover new realities and niche products. Pure Sangiovese is something that has been produced for centuries in Tuscany; this makes this product a meditation wine par excellence suitable for the palate of the most demanding and curious. In combination it is very suitable for soft and tasty cheeses, rich, tasty and basically fatty meat dishes.
