History
The maison was founded in 1772 by Monsieur Philippe Clicquot-Muiron, and has contributed extensively and historically to the affirmation of this champagne as a luxury and valuable product for wealthy families of the time. Right from the start François Clicquot, son of Philippe, had the intention of expanding the business abroad, but his untimely death at the age of 27 left the leadership of the company in the hands of his wife Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, as well as Madame Cliqcuot , nicknamed Veuve Clicquot (widow). Thanks to his tenacity and his strong entrepreneurial spirit, the company had a rapid and lightning-fast growth.

Production method
Champagne is produced with the champenoise or classic method, with two fermentations: the first alcoholic in vats and the second in the bottle which creates carbon dioxide with specific yeasts. This gives rise to the bubbles that are noticeable when uncorked.

Tasting notes
Intense and bright straw yellow color, with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe yellow fruit, green apple, hints of citrus, white flowers, which then leave room for more mature notes of yeast, dry pastries, toasted hazelnuts and hints of butter. Soft and powerful in the mouth, with an enveloping and elegant perlage, complex and with an incredibly persistent finish.
Possible combinations
Perfect as a meditation wine for a special occasion. To be tried in combination with fish dishes, also full-bodied and spiced/seasoned.
