History
The De Marchi family acquired Isole and Olena, two neighboring farms in the Chianti Classico area, around the 1950s. Paolo Marchi immediately began to give his own qualitative approach to the company after having studied agriculture. The production of quality wine that was also able to express and tell the Tuscan soul was immediately sought after; priority is therefore given to traditional products such as Vin Santo, Chianti Classico and Cepparello, a very high expression of pure Sangiovese.

Production method
Vin Santo Isole e Olena 2010 is mainly obtained from Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes, which are left to dry on straw racks for several months after harvesting, in order to concentrate the sugars and increase the complexity of the wine. Subsequently, the grapes are pressed and the juice is fermented slowly in oak barrels for about four years. During ageing, the wine acquires a series of unique organoleptic characteristics.

Tasting notes
Golden yellow tending to amber. Aromas of raisins, honey, candied citrus fruits and spices. In the mouth it is warm, elegant, balanced, with a pleasant note of acidity that balances the sweetness, and a long and persistent finish.
Possible combinations
Vin Santo Isole e Olena 2010 is a meditation wine, which goes well with aged cheeses, sweets and desserts based on dried fruit.
