Description
History
Marilena Barbera is a determined and passionate winemaker, leading her family’s estate in Menfi, on the southwestern coast of Sicily. Her production philosophy is based on natural and sustainable agricultural practices, aiming to create wines that faithfully express the character of the territory and native varieties. The Tivitti was born from the desire to enhance Inzolia, a traditional grape often underestimated, transforming it into a wine that surprises with its elegance and personality.
Grapes used
-
100% Inzolia
Production method
The grapes are hand-harvested in the early morning hours to preserve their freshness. After gentle pressing, the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine then matures on fine lees for several months, with periodic bâtonnage, to enrich its structure and aromatic complexity. The entire process takes place without the addition of enological additives, respecting the minimalist and natural approach that characterizes Marilena Barbera’s production.
