Description
History
Founded in 2009 by Sam Galsworthy, Fairfax Hall and Jared Brown, Sipsmith became London’s first traditional copper-pot distillery in almost 200 years. The founders helped revive authentic London Dry Gin production in the city where the style originated. Today, every batch is still handcrafted at the Chiswick distillery using traditional methods.
Botanicals
Juniper berries, coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, liquorice root, almonds, cassia bark, cinnamon, sweet orange peel and lemon peel.
Distillation
The botanicals are carefully macerated before being distilled in small traditional copper pot stills following the London Dry method. Small-batch production ensures exceptional precision, resulting in a clean, aromatic and complex gin with no added flavourings or sugar after distillation.
Alcohol content
41.6% ABV.
Tasting notes
Crystal clear in appearance. The nose reveals floral aromas, mellow juniper and fresh citrus notes. The palate opens with classic dry juniper before developing flavours of lemon tart, orange marmalade and gentle spice. The finish is long, crisp and dry, with lingering juniper and lemon zest.
Food pairings
Ideal served in a classic Gin & Tonic with a twist of lemon or grapefruit peel and premium tonic water. It is also an outstanding choice for a Dry Martini, Negroni, Gimlet, Tom Collins and other classic cocktails where a traditional London Dry Gin is required.
