Description
History
Glenrothes is a renowned pure malt whiskey distillery located in Speyside, Scotland. Founded in 1879, the company has more than 140 years of experience in producing high quality whisky. Despite two fires which destroyed the entire facility in 1896 and 1903, Glenrothes products were soon among the most sought after in the region.
Production method
To produce single malt whisky, the barley undergoes malting, where the starches are converted into simple sugars. After germination, the barley is dried in peat ovens to give the typical smoky or brackish flavours. The barley is then ground and added to hot water to extract the wort, which is fermented and distilled. Single malt whiskey must come from a single distillery in Scotland and mature in oak casks for at least three years to be called such.

Tasting notes
Light amber color with luminous reflections. Notes of flowers, candied apricot, ripe banana and vanilla on the nose. On the palate it is pleasantly round, straightforward and clean, with a silky sensation. On the other hand, the finish reveals more structure and character, with an alcoholic and persistent finish that returns to the spicy notes.
Usage
Perfect at the end of a meal or as a meditation; particularly recommended for lovers of elegant and refined whiskeys. Great as a gift!
