With the presence of six wineries strategically located in the main districts of the island, Planeta offers a wide selection of wines that faithfully reflect the territory, creating a unique experience. Ulmo in Sambuca di Sicilia, Dispensa in Menfi, Dorilli in Vittoria, Buonivini in Noto, Feudo di Mezzo on Etna in Castiglione di Sicilia and, finally, La Baronia in Capo Milazzo are the locations where the Planeta cellars are located. This winery began its modern journey in 1995, but can boast a history and tradition that has been handed down for 17 generations, even dating back to the 16th century. It is a journey through Sicily and its finest wines, a project by the Planeta wineries that embraces both the past and the future, immersing itself wonderfully in the present. Currently, the Planeta vineyards extend over a total area of 370 hectares, where the vines are cultivated and cared for with the utmost respect for the environment and the ecosystem. This philosophy is also reflected in the company management, which follows the same style present in the vineyards, protecting the landscape, adopting renewable energies and practicing the recycling of resources and materials.
It is produced using high quality Chardonnay grapes from the cellar’s vineyards. After the harvest, the grapes are pressed and the must obtained is subjected to fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Subsequently, the wine is aged in oak barrels.
Golden colour. The intense and complex nose manifests itself with a bouquet of tropical fruit and citrus fruits, followed by hints of toasted hazelnuts, spring flowers, delicate spices and mineral hints. On the palate, the wine reveals a full and deep body, while unfolding with a lively freshness. The length is exceptional, with a finish that becomes savory and pleasantly toasted.
Excellent to drink as an aperitif, especially on a warm summer or spring evening, or suitable for pairing with slices of fish in sauce and delicately spiced white meats.
