Description
History
Founded in 1993 by Hervé Souhaut and his wife Béatrice, the Domaine Romaneaux Destezet is located in the northern part of the Rhône Valley in the pleasant village of Arlebosc. The production of this winery is entirely natural and is divided between the vineyards of the Ardèche near the winery and the prestigious sites in the heart of the Saint Joseph appellation at the Hermitage. The varieties are the traditional ones of the region such as Syrah, Marsanne, Viognier, Roussanne, Gamay, as well as some rows of Merlot. The total vineyard heritage is about 5 hectares with some vines that are over 100 years old. The sustainable agronomic approach in the vineyard is followed in the cellar with spontaneous vinification after the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts, with an almost zero use of sulfur dioxide, and by slow refinements in steel cuve and used wood. The result is wines of marked drinkability, elegance and gustatory dynamics, capable of translating the most intimate characteristics of this extraordinary terroir into the glass.
