History
El Dorado is a legendary brand rooted in Guyana, the home of the famous Demerara rums. Produced by Demerara Distillers Limited, this rum is aged for a minimum of 15 years in oak barrels and crafted using unique wooden stills, which impart a distinctive and unmatched character to the spirit.
Ingredients and production
- Raw material: Molasses from locally grown sugarcane.
- Distillation: Crafted using a combination of wooden and traditional stills, including the iconic Port Mourant and Versailles stills, known for producing rich and complex rums.
- Aging: Aged for at least 15 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels, which contribute spicy notes and a velvety texture.

Tasting notes
- Color: Deep amber with golden highlights.
- Aroma: Rich notes of dried fruits, vanilla, caramel, sweet spices, and a hint of tobacco.
- Taste: Complex and well-balanced, with flavors of honey, raisins, dark chocolate, orange zest, and a subtle hint of toasted oak. The finish is long, smooth, and enveloping.
