Description
History
Agostina Pieri has her estate in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell’Abate. Its approximately 10 hectares of vineyards are mainly dedicated to Sangiovese. Thanks to the warm but windy climate with significant temperature variations, its wines are well matured and retain a good aromatic complexity.
Grapes used
Sangiovese Grosso 100%
Production method
After the manual selection of the grapes in the vineyard, we proceed with a subsequent selection in the cellar, bunch by bunch. Fermentation and maceration are carried out in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, with a maceration period of 12-18 days, depending on the vintage. After racking, the wine is immediately transferred to French oak barrels for at least 12 months of refinement.
