The peculiarity of this rum is that it carries out three different types of refinement in three different types of wood; this gives the distillate unique notes and a complexity to be discovered. The refinements are respectively 5 years in American oak barrels, 3 years in “Dos Cortados” ex-sherry barrels and another 2 years in ex Pedro Ximenez barrels.

History
Williams & Humbert is a historic company in Jerez, active in the production of high quality sherry, founded by Sir Alexander Williams in 1877. In addition to the historic activity in the production and marketing of sherry all over the world, the “Dos Maderas” which provides for the bottling of rum with double or triple refinement in carefully selected ex sherry casks, half in the Caribbean and half in Jerez.
Production method
To produce an agricultural rum, the starting “base” is given exclusively by the distillation of pure fermented sugar cane juice. This is a procedure that was adopted for the first time in the Central American islands of former French domination, especially Martinique. Usually from this procedure more complex and elegant products are obtained, characterized by notes that tend to be drier and more dry than the rest of the rums.

Tasting notes
Dark brown color with amber reflections. The nose is complex and intense, the notes of ripe fruit, spices and sherry stand out. The palate is balanced and elegant.

Perfect as an end of meal or meditation, suitable for collectors or for a special gift!
