Description
History
This Anejo rum has a history that dates back to the times of the Spanish Conquistadors and the origins of the estate are lost in the mid-1700s, although the Destilería Carúpano C.A brand was only created after the Second World War. The distillery is based on a centuries-old culture of distillation processes, still carried out with artisanal attention today, and uses only high quality raw materials, deriving from sugar cane and very pure and light water to obtain the final distillates.
Production method
The molasses used comes from exceptional quality local sugar canes. The fermented liquid is then subjected to distillation in column stills. It then undergoes aging in American white oak barrels, in a warm and humid environment typical of the Tropics, for a period ranging from 6 to 21 years.
