History
Ramos Pinto is an ancient and prestigious winery that produces Port, located in the beautiful Douro region. Founded in 1880 by brothers Adriano and Antonio Ramos Pinto, it quickly established itself as a point of reference for all producers thanks to the innovative strategies and impeccable quality of their wines. Thanks to the constant pioneering impulse of the founders, the company has remained at the forefront in the production of high quality wines, carefully studying the soils and grape varieties used and controlling the entire production process.
Production method
Port is produced with grapes selected from the best Douro vineyards, harvested by hand and fermented in large steel or wooden vats. After fermentation, alcohol is added to stop the fermentation and preserve the natural sugars of the grapes. The wine is aged in oak barrels for at least 2 years, undergoing a process of oxidation and concentration of flavors. The Porto Reserva is aged for at least 7 years before being bottled after the judgment of a commission of experts.
