History
The Conte Vistarino farm is owned by the historic Giorgi di Vistarino family, in the municipality of Rocca de’ Giorgi. It was precisely Count Augusto Carlo Giorgi of Vistarino who was the first to think of the cultivation of pinot noir in Italy and in the Oltrepò Pavese area; today his legacy is taken up by the generation represented by Ottavia Giorgi di Vistarino, with the firm will to best represent this splendid terroir and raise the quality and the market of its wines in Italy and in the world. The estate currently covers 826 hectares, 200 of which are planted with vineyards; almost all of the vineyards are located within the municipality of Rocca de’ Giorgi.

Production method
The grapes come from the Costa del Nero vineyard, a 19-hectare hill particularly suited to the production of this variety. After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and softly pressed, after which they are placed in stainless steel containers for fermentation at a controlled temperature. A part, on the other hand, is aged in wood for a year and assembled with the rest only before bottling.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red colour. The nose is rich and elegant with the typical notes of small red fruits, blackcurrant and pomegranate, mineral, balsamic and with notes of black pepper and vanilla. In the mouth it is balanced, elegant, fine and of perceptible softness, with light and silky tannins and a fresh final acidity.
Possible combinations
Costa del Nero is ideal as a red wine to drink by the glass for lovers of the genre and quality Pinot Noir. In combination it is perfect with pasta with tomato sauce and possibly with a meat sauce, noble and spiced white meat dishes or not too heavy but tasty red meats.
