History
Montevertine was purchased by Sergio Manetti in 1967 as a holiday home and, planning to produce wine for himself and for friends and relatives, he planted some Sangiovese vineyards. The results obtained were already so surprising that he decided to send a few bottles to Vinitaly in Verona and it was immediately a great success. From then on it was decided to get serious, Sergio will devote himself exclusively to the production of wine, increasing the quality every year. The company has its own land at 425 m a.s.l. and is located in Radda in Chianti and only typical varieties of the denomination are grown, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino.
Production method
Gin di Montevertine is a unique product of its kind, made with a selection of particular botanicals to give it a rich and intense flavour. Dried lemon peels, fig leaves, walnut leaves and juniper berries are distilled together to create a complex and aromatically intense alcohol base. The distillation process is carried out with care and precision to ensure the highest quality and maximum aroma. The result is a gin with a surprising taste, with citrus and spicy notes that combine perfectly with the sweetness of the fig leaves and the spiciness of the juniper.
