Description
History
Produced by the Peter Heering company since 1818, this cherry-based liqueur had the merit of being one of the first to be distributed on a global scale, above all thanks to its reputation as an essential ingredient for the creation of famous cocktails such as the Singapore Sling and the Blood and Sand.
Production method
Made with Stevens cherries, a small variety characterized by an intense dark red colour, selected from a native wild cherry of Denmark, the process begins with the pressing of the cherries, followed by the transfer of both the juice and the pulp into wooden vats where they combine with alcohol. The mixture is kept moving for several months to ensure optimal extraction of the cherry aromas. Once the blend of cherry alcohol, secret botanicals and sugar has been completed, Heering Cherry Liqueur must rest for a period of at least 3/5 years before being bottled.
