Description
History
Riccardo Catocci is the one who pulls the reins of Le Calle; Riccardo is a farmer who has always had an innate sensitivity towards nature and peasant life. He has been working organically for over 15 years and makes wine spontaneously. His farm in Montecucco, an area between the sea and the mountains, includes olive groves, agricultural fields, vineyards with varieties such as Vermentino, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo, and breeding of cows, donkeys, sheep and black Cinta Senese pigs in the wild. With his wife Sabina, he has been running a closed-cycle organic farm for almost 30 years, producing cured meats, olive oil, cereals and authentic wines. Their agricultural reality is authentic and timeless.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red color, with a garnet edge. On the nose notes of ripe red fruit, cherry, ripe berries, slightly dried violets, herbaceous hints, roasting spices, coffee, black pepper and cloves. In the mouth it is lively, enveloping and ample with great acidity, elegant but lively tannins and a mineral base. Definitely long and fruity finish, with hints of spices too.
Possible combinations
In combination it is excellent with well-structured first courses with meat sauce or with red meats in general. Also excellent with selections of medium-aged cheeses.
