Description
History
Il Monticello is based in Colli di Luni, on the Ligurian-Tuscan border, in hillside sites influenced by sea breezes and soils rich in marine fossils and sand. The Poggio Paterno cuvée represents the top spectrum of the estate’s Vermentino production, featuring rigorous grape selection and winemaking practices aimed at showcasing the varietal’s distinctiveness.

Vinification
Hand-harvested grapes, vinified with great attention. The wine is matured in stainless steel to preserve freshness and primary aromas, while reflecting the marine and hillside terroir through its mineral backbone.

Tasting notes
Straw yellow with green highlights. On the nose: citrus (cedar, lemon), green apple, white flowers and a clear salty-mineral streak. On the palate: fresh, lively, well-balanced acidity, solid yet light structure and a clean, savoury finish that invites another sip.
Food pairings
Perfect with seafood starters, shellfish, fish carpaccio, sushi, but also with light first courses, grilled vegetables, fresh cheeses or elaborated vegetarian dishes. Excellent also as an elegant aperitif.
