Description
History
The Gorilla Spirits Company is located in the north east corner of the county of Hampshire, in a small village called Four Marks, close to the Surrey border. This distillery has a family character, as the close-knit team that composes it likes to define itself. Its main focus is the ethical production of liqueurs and spirits, especially gin. Every bottle sold contributes to supporting the Gorilla Organization, an organization that has been collaborating for years with many African countries and is dedicated to the conservation and protection of mountain gorillas, a species that fights every year against the serious threat of extinction (currently they remain just over 1000 specimens). The mind behind the Gorilla Spirits Distillery is Andy Daniels, the founder and a man of great sensitivity, who from a young age was fascinated by the art of distillation and the world of animals. Thus, in 2010, Andy created his own micro-distillery demonstrating how a social commitment to animal protection can be combined with a distillate production business. Andy has been able to reconcile these two worlds under the name of Gorilla Spirits Co.
Production method
To produce gin it is necessary to “aromatize” an alcoholic base with some elements of which one of the components or often the main one is juniper. This can happen in various ways: either through maceration of the botanicals in alcohol, which is then redistilled to find a colorless and “cleaner” product, or the botanicals can be placed in a container placed above the alembic, so that alcohol in the form of vapor extracts aromas and perfumes.

Tasting notes
Colorless. The sense of smell is immediately fascinated by aromas of extraordinary delicacy and refined expressiveness, which highlight floral notes, hints of orange peel, hints of aromatic herbs and delicate spices, on a balsamic background dominated by juniper. On the palate, it presents itself with an elegant and soft sip, with subtle and harmonious aromas that extend towards a long finish that pleasantly brings back balsamic and slightly spicy notes.
Usage
Perfect at the end of a meal or as a meditation drink, excellent for creating high quality refreshing cocktails!
