History
Founded in 1930, Maison Egly-Ouriet is renowned for producing high-quality champagnes, focusing on the Grand Cru vineyards of Ambonnay. Their production philosophy emphasizes sustainable farming practices and an artisanal approach in the cellar, highlighting the unique characteristics of each vintage.
Grapes Used
- 70% Pinot Noir
- 30% Chardonnay
The grapes are sourced from vineyards averaging 40 years old, planted on chalk and limestone soils in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay.
Production Method
Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation, preserving the wine’s natural freshness and acidity. The wine ages on its lees for approximately 9 years in the bottle, developing complexity and depth. It’s bottled unfined and unfiltered, maintaining its structure and richness.

Tasting Notes
- Color: Pale golden yellow.
- Aroma: Scents of herbed butter, lemon, lime, and verbena, with Chardonnay-dominant notes.
- Taste: Precise and refined, featuring flavors of lemon blossom, herbs, and white pepper, with a very long finish.
