Description
History
The Pommery maison is a famous champagne company, founded in 1858 by Alexandre Louis Pommery and Narcisse Greno, originally dedicated to the production of wool. After Alexandre’s death, his widow Louise Pommery led the company to success and created one of the finest product lines, which bore her name. Louise was the first to create a “brut” champagne and to recognize the demand for the product abroad, particularly in England and Russia. Today the company is part of the Vranken-Pommery-Monopole group and is the second largest producer of champagne in the world.

Production method
It is produced with the classic method which involves two fermentations: the first, the alcoholic one and also common to other wines and the second in the bottle, thanks to which the bubbles develop. Only the best grapes from the Grand Crus are used in this cuvée, whose product is vintage and aged for at least 120 months on the lees.

Tasting notes
The wine has an intense straw yellow color and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose there are notes of peaches in syrup and candied citrus fruits, with hints of bread crust, melted butter, toasted almonds and dry pastries. In the mouth, it is powerful and complex, yet young thanks to the good acidity. Spicy and long finish.
Possible combinations
Ideal if accompanied with delicate and light dishes such as fish, seafood and soft cheeses, but also with shellfish and fried foods.
