Description
History
In 1970 Siro Pacenti bought an estate north-east of Montalcino, in Pelagrilli, where he planted the first vines that are still productive today. His son Giancarlo took control of the company in 1988, with the first vintage bottled. The company expands to the current 22 hectares thanks to the acquisition of land in Piancornello, on the southern slope of Montalcino. Giancarlo’s wines combine the elegance of the sandy clay of Pelagrilli with the sweet power of the pebbly mineral soils of Piancornello. All the wines are carefully cared for, the difference being only in the age of the vineyards: a minimum of 15 years for the Rosso, over 35 years for the Brunello Vecchie Vigne. The Riserva PS is only produced in exceptional years, from a single vineyard from the early 1970s on the northern slope.

Tasting notes
Its color shows an intense ruby red with garnet hues. The olfactory bouquet is rich and complex, it opens with fruity aromas of red berries, very delicate dried flowers accompanied by pleasant spicy and balsamic nuances. The taste is full and pleasantly structured, with soft and enveloping tannins.
Possible combinations
This Brunello di Montalcino goes well with dishes based on red meat, game and aged cheeses. Excellent with truffles and traditional Tuscan dishes. Try it with dark chocolate desserts for a truly unconventional combination.
