Description
History
The Il Poggione estate was created in the late 1800s by Lavinio Franceschi, a landowner originally from Florence. After a local shepherd told him about the beauty of Montalcino, he decided to visit it and fell in love with the place, buying the land and starting a farm. It was one of the first to produce Brunello di Montalcino already in the early 1900s and contributed to the foundation of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium. After more than a century, the company is still led with passion and commitment by his heirs, Leopoldo and Livia, who combine winemaking tradition and innovative techniques.
