Description
History
The Scarzello winery is located in the heart of the Piedmont wine region, precisely in Barolo, in the province of Cuneo. Founded in 1945 by Francesco Scarzello, the company began the production of wine with the harvest of the grapes from the family’s vineyards.
In the 1980s, Francesco’s children, Federico and Emanuela, joined the company and brought new impetus to wine production, introducing new techniques and modernizing the company. Today, the third generation of the Scarzello family runs the company and produces some of the best wines in Piedmont.

Production method
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel vats. The refinement is 18 months in large oak barrels, then it rests in the bottle for two years.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red color tending towards garnet. On the nose, notes of ripe fruit emerge, such as cherries and plums, accompanied by spicy sensations of licorice and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is enveloping and silky, with soft tannins and perfectly balanced by the right acidity. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste of ripe fruit and spices.
Possible combinations
It can be combined with savory first courses seasoned with ragù or wild boar ragù, roasted and grilled red meat, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.
