Description
History
The Scarzello winery is located in the heart of the Piedmont wine region, precisely in Barolo, in the province of Cuneo. Founded in 1945 by Francesco Scarzello, the company began producing wine with the harvest of grapes from the family’s vineyards.
In the 1980s, Francesco’s children, Federico and Emanuela, joined the company and brought a new impetus to wine production, introducing new techniques and modernizing the company. Today, the third generation of the Scarzello family runs the company and produces some of the best wines in Piedmont.

The alcoholic fermentation in steel, the aging is 18 months in large oak barrels.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red color tending towards garnet. On the nose there are notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices, dried flowers and a light hint of tobacco. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a full body and a well-balanced tannic structure. The fruity flavor pairs perfectly with the spicy notes and there is a light liquorice aftertaste.
Possible combinations
It can be combined with tasty first courses seasoned with ragù or wild boar ragù, roasts and grilled red meat, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.
