Description
History
Bertani is a winery founded in 1857 by the brothers Giovan Battista Bertani and Gaetano Bertani in Quinto di Valpantena. Gaetano, a wine expert, learned the art of oenology from the French professor Guyot. The company immediately focused on the quality of the wine and the importance of bottling its products. In 1923, the company obtained a royal patent and by the end of the 19th century was exporting countless quantities of bottles to the United States and other parts of the world. During the 20th century, Bertani played an important role in the creation of Amarone, an Italian legend that was marketed for the first time in 1958, becoming one of the most appreciated and well-known wine specialties worldwide.

Production method
After the harvest, the grapes are dried in ventilated rooms for about 120 days, during which they dehydrate and the percentage of sugar remains high. Subsequently, they are pressed and sent to a slow fermentation at low temperature, which lasts about 30-35 days. Finally, the wine is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for at least 2 years. The drying process is fundamental to the quality of Amarone, which is known for its intense and complex flavor.

Tasting notes
Impenetrable dark red color with violet reflections. On the nose notes of blackberry jam, plums, dried violet and balsamic notes, with final sweet spices. Soft, enveloping in the mouth closed by a very fresh and tannic finish with fruit notes.
Possible combinations
Meditation wine par excellence, Amarone Valpantena is a perfect wine to end a meal. In combination we see it very well with aged cheeses and second courses of meat or game cooked for a long time, spicy and tasty.
