Description
History
Anna Maria Abbona is a family-run winery located in Farigliano, in the heart of the Langhe region, with a tradition dating back to 1936. The estate is renowned for producing wines that reflect the authenticity of the territory, combining traditional methods with innovation. The Alta Langa San Bartomè marks their inaugural venture into the world of Metodo Classico sparkling wines, debuting with the 2019 vintage.
Grapes used
- 85% Pinot Noir
- 15% Chardonnay
Production method
The grapes are sourced from vineyards situated at an altitude of 640 meters above sea level, with east/north exposure, on soils characterized by calcareous marls, sands, and stones. Harvesting is done by hand, using ventilated crates. Vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle according to the traditional method. The wine matures on the lees for a period ranging from 30 to 36 months before disgorgement.
