Description
History
The Transcontinental Rum Line is a series of rums selected by La Maison du Whisky, inspired by the historical voyages of rum barrels across the Atlantic, between the Caribbean and Europe. This line celebrates the tradition of maritime rum transport, which has contributed to the spread and evolution of different rum styles worldwide. The Jamaica 2016 5 Years Old embodies the essence of Jamaican rum, known for its robust and aromatic character.
Production Method
This rum is produced from fermented molasses, distilled in 2016 using traditional pot stills in Lluidas Vale, Jamaica. After distillation, the rum matures for four years in the tropical climate of Jamaica in American oak barrels, benefiting from environmental conditions that accelerate the aging process and intensify flavors. It is then transferred to Europe for an additional year of refinement in a temperate climate, adding complexity and depth to its aromatic profile.
