History
Part of the premium 1800 range, established in 1975 and now owned by Proximo Spirits of the Beckmann family (also behind José Cuervo). The reposado marks an evolution from the blanco, showcasing the brand’s mastery of oak maturation and aromatic complexity.
Grape (Agave) Variety
100% Blue Weber agave from Jalisco.
Vinification
Double traditional distillation followed by a minimum six-month aging in new American and French oak barrels. Some batches incorporate reserve tequilas to enrich the bouquet.
Alcohol content
38% ABV .
Tasting notes
Light amber color. Aromas of smoky agave, buttery caramel, vanilla, sweet spices, and subtle smoke. The palate is smooth and creamy, with caramel and mild spices evolving into a smoky nuance. The finish offers candied orange peel, white pepper, and marzipan notes.
Suggested pairings
Excellent neat or over a rock, and makes a refined base for cocktails like a Reposado Old Fashioned or Tequila Manhattan. Pairs well with spicy dishes, dark chocolate, intricate white meats, and semi-aged cheeses .
