Description
History
The Taverna Company is located in Basilicata, on the coastal strip of Matera. It has 20 hectares of vineyards on the hills overlooking the Ionian sea. The soils are rich in microelements and well exposed, allowing cultivation with low environmental impact. The ancient city Lagaria is famous for its “healing Lagarini wines”. The company has two vineyards, Suriano and San Basile, where it grows vines such as Primitivo, Syrah, Greco, Pinot Bianco, Montepulciano, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Suriano is located at 120 m asl and San Basile at about 150 m asl.
Production method
The grapes, after destemming-crushing, rest on the must for a delicate cryomaceration. At the end of the fermentation the batonnage is carried out which allows us to obtain a fatter and more persistent wine. Important acidity, balanced and sapid palate.

Tasting notes
Straw yellow. The nose is expressed with hints of peach and apricot and notes of orange blossom flowers, jasmine and broom. On the palate it is fresh, fruity, very pleasant to drink and pleasantly balanced.
Possible combinations
In combination it is perfect with fish-based preparations, it goes particularly well with shellfish.
