Description

History
Taittinger is one of the most respected historic Champagne houses, known for producing classic-method wines of great elegance. The Cuvée Prestige is the house’s flagship cuvée, crafted from selected vineyard sites and recognised for its harmony, finesse and balance. The Magnum format allows a slower, more even maturation on the lees, adding depth and richness to the final wine.

Grape variety
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier

Vinification
Traditional method with secondary fermentation in bottle. Controlled fermentations in stainless steel, careful blending of base wines, extended lees ageing to build complexity and depth, and calibrated dosage to balance fruit expression and freshness. Magnum ageing enhances the wine’s aromatic progression compared to a standard bottle.

Alcohol content
Approx. 12.0%

Tasting notes
Bright straw yellow with fine, persistent bubbles. Aromas of ripe white fruit, citrus, bread crust, white flowers and light hazelnut notes. On the palate: harmonious and balanced with fresh acidity, elegant structure, delicate sapidity and a long, satisfying finish. The Magnum format accentuates aromatic depth and complexity.

Food pairings
Perfect as a prestigious aperitif; pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, sushi and sashimi, fish carpaccio, delicate risottos and seafood dishes. Also excellent with soft cheeses and refined cuisine, offering an enjoyable and elegant pairing.

Taittinger

The history of this maison begins in 1743 when it was founded by Jacques Fourneaux; the Forneaux family continued to operate in this sector with great results, joining forces with Antoine Forest, giving life to the company "Forest-Forneaux" and constantly increasing its success. After almost 2 centuries, in 1932 Pierre-Charles Taittinger bought the company and, in addition to giving it his family name, gave a key role to Chardonnay in the production of blends. This will be found in particular in the release, following the trends of the historical period and under the guidance of his son Francois Taittinger, in 1952, of the "Comtes de Champagne", the first cuvée de Prestige of the Reims area entirely produced with Chardonnay. Today the company has been led by Pierre-Emanuel Taittinger since 2005, direct descendant of Pierre-Charles head of the company we find, with about 288 hectares of property.
