History
Château Haut-Bergeron is a historic family-run winery located in the heart of Sauternes, in the Bordeaux region. For generations, the Lamothe family has been dedicated to producing high-quality sweet wines, combining tradition and innovation to best express the unique terroir of Sauternes.
Grapes used
- 90% Sémillon
- 10% Sauvignon Blanc
Production method
The grapes, hand-harvested through successive selections to ensure maximum concentration of sugars and aromas, undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about three weeks. The wine then matures in oak barrels for a period ranging from 18 to 22 months, depending on the vintage, with regular rackings to promote aromatic and structural development.

Tasting notes
Visually, it presents an intense golden yellow color. On the nose, it offers floral aromas accompanied by notes of candied fruit and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is sweet, soft, and persistent, with a pleasant freshness that balances the sweetness, making the tasting experience harmonious and satisfying.
Possible pairings
Ideal with blue cheeses, foie gras, and fruit- or cream-based desserts. Also excellent as a meditation wine, to be enjoyed on its own to appreciate its aromatic complexity.
