History
Way back in 1888, exactly five generations ago, an unbreakable bond began between the Dominican Republic and the Brugal family. This adventure was started by Don Andres, who created a renowned distillery on the Caribbean island. Even today, the Brugal & Co. company remains faithful to its mission of producing excellent quality rums, made entirely in the Dominican territory, from the choice of raw materials to bottling. In almost 130 years of history, the Brugal brand has experienced rapid growth, but has always retained its traditional roots, its authenticity and its relentless pursuit of quality. Currently, daily rum production reaches 75,000 litres, placing the brand third in the global rum market.
Production method
To produce an “industrial” rum (this is what the rums produced in the islands of former Spanish domination are called) molasses is used, which is often nothing more than the residues of sugar beet after processing for the production of the latter. This is then fermented, a must is created and distilled. Subsequently these can be aged in wood and then created a blend of rums of varying degrees of aging in order to find a perfect balance.

Tasting notes
Dark amber color with beautiful bright reflections. On the bouquet nose, delicate aromas emerge that mix red fruits, dried fruit, raisins and dates, accompanied by a light woody spiciness with accents of cinnamon. On the palate, the rum is round and velvety, with a strong structure. The sweet notes of toffee, vanilla and peach are balanced by nuances of cocoa and cloves. The finish is persistent and elegant, with light traces of honey.
