Description
History
Pojer e Sandri was founded in 1975 by Mario Pojer and Fiorentino Sandri. Based in Faedo, Trentino, the winery has earned an international reputation for combining scientific innovation with deep respect for the vineyard. Pinot Nero is one of the estate’s classic wines and perfectly expresses the elegance that this noble grape achieves in Trentino’s high-altitude vineyards.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented under temperature-controlled conditions. The wine undergoes fermentation and a short ageing period in both stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels, preserving the purity of the fruit while adding subtle complexity and texture without overshadowing the varietal character.
Alcohol content
12.5%.
Tasting notes
Bright, transparent ruby red in colour. The bouquet offers persistent aromas of wild berries, strawberries and raspberries. On the palate it faithfully reflects the nose, showing generous fruit, fine texture, silky tannins and outstanding purity, leading to a long, elegant finish with delicate spicy nuances.
Food pairings
Excellent with roasted or braised red meats, guinea fowl, duck, goose and pigeon. It also pairs beautifully with tuna tartare, smoked salmon, mushroom dishes, porcini risotto and medium-aged cheeses.
