The company is located in Castellina in Chianti at about 500 meters above sea level. It was born in 2000 by the will of the renowned winemaker Alessandro Cellai with the aim of enhancing French vines in a famous territory for another, with particular attention to 2016. The choice of land and above all of the rooted cuttings was of crucial importance.
The vineyards are in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level, and extend over a medium-textured soil, rich in skeleton, which gives the wine unique characteristics. The vines in production are 20 years old and offer a (very low) yield of 35 quintals of grapes per hectare. The harvest takes place around September, and the grapes then undergo an alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in wooden tanks, then they are refined in Allier oak barriques, 60% of which are first passage.
Wine that enchants from the first sip. Upon visual examination it shows an intense and brilliant ruby color, inviting you to discover its complex nuances. The nose opens with a fragrant and enveloping bouquet, in which elegant notes of red fruits blend with floral hints of violets and delicate spicy hints. In the mouth it reveals a balanced and harmonious structure. Its tannic texture is delicate and silky, enveloping the palate with a pleasant softness.
Wine that lends itself to refined pairings. Its structure and complexity make it ideal to accompany meat dishes, such as roasts or grilled cuts of beef. It also goes beautifully with mature cheeses and quality salami.
