Description
History
Lago di Venere is a company that divides its possessions between Sciacca and the island of Pantelleria, where it produces Moscato di Pantelleria DOC with Zibibbo grapes from the area. The history of the company began in the 1930s thanks to Ignazio Micheli, commander of the Navy, who initially began distributing the wine produced in Palermo in bulk according to the customs of the time. Subsequently, his son Salvatore will inherit his father’s passion and start the company towards a qualitative transformation process.

Zibibbo 100%
Production method
The grapes are harvested and placed on traditional trellises by the sea for drying. This favors the dehydration of the berry and the increase in the sugar concentration and aromas of the grapes, and causes the grapes to be influenced by the sea winds. The grapes are then softly pressed and sent for a slow fermentation; the wine obtained is then aged for 12 months in barriques.

Tasting notes
