Why buy it
Manyarì 2025 by Brigante Vigneti & Cantina is a Cirò Rosato DOC made exclusively from Gaglioppo, one of Calabria’s most representative native grape varieties. Produced on the hills of the Cirò hinterland, it reflects the area’s traditional approach to rosé: fresh, fragrant and distinctly Mediterranean, yet with a subtle tannic character that gives it personality and sets it apart from simpler rosé wines. Versatile and food-friendly, it combines easy drinking with vibrant fruit and refreshing acidity.

Description

History
The Brigante family’s winemaking history dates back to the late 19th century with Giuseppe and continued after the Second World War with Cataldo, who established many of the vineyards still cultivated by the family today. Brigante Vigneti & Cantina is now run by Enzo Sestito and Stefania Carè, with a strong focus on Cirò’s traditional grape varieties and organic vineyard management. The name Manyarì also has a family connection: it derives from Margherita, Enzo and Stefania’s first daughter, and evokes the meaning of “pearl”, making this one of the estate’s most personal labels.

Grape variety
100% Gaglioppo.

Vinification
The grapes come from hillside vineyards in the Cirò hinterland, at approximately 365 metres above sea level, and are selected on the vine before being harvested by hand into crates. In the cellar, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and static clarification of the must, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C. The wine matures for approximately 3 months in stainless steel and completes its ageing with around 2 months in bottle, preserving freshness, aromatic fragrance and varietal character.

Alcohol content
12.5% ABV.

Tasting notes
Bright, intense pink in colour. The nose reveals floral aromas and fresh fruit, with distinctive notes of cherry and ripe sour cherry complemented by subtle spicy and Mediterranean nuances. The palate is fresh, lively and pleasantly savoury, with the delicate tannic touch typical of Gaglioppo adding character and structure. The finish is fragrant and persistent, with lingering notes of small red berries.

Food pairings
Excellent as an aperitif and particularly well suited to raw seafood, shellfish, seafood starters and vegetable risottos. It also pairs beautifully with traditional pizza, Mediterranean pasta dishes, delicate cured meats, fresh cheeses and white meats. Its combination of freshness and subtle tannic structure makes it an exceptionally versatile rosé at the table.
