Description
History
In 1877, in Madeira, Henrique Menezes Borges founded a winery that still bears his name today and has become a point of reference for high-quality Madeira wines. Like most producers on the island, H.M. Borges does not have his own vineyards, but selects grapes from a small circle of winemakers whose properties are located in the areas of Estreito de Camara de Lobos and the northern areas of the island.
Production method
The production is based on the technique of fortification, which involves adding alcohol during fermentation to interrupt the process, creating a wine with a pleasant residual sugar and a high alcohol content.
