Description
History
Tenuta La Nascosta is a winery located on the slopes of the medieval village of Castiglione d’Orcia, in the province of Siena. Founded by the Mastrojanni family, the estate is known for producing wines that combine tradition and innovation, enhancing the unique characteristics of the Tuscan territory.
Grapes used
- 60% Petit Manseng
- 40% Sauvignon Blanc
Production method
- Harvest: Manual selection of grapes with careful sorting in the vineyard.
- Vinification: After harvesting, the grapes are cooled to 6°C, followed by a second sorting and, depending on the vintage, a cold maceration lasting 6-12 hours. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures using selected yeasts.
- Aging: 8-10 months in stainless steel, followed by an additional 8-12 months in the bottle.
Alcohol content
- 13% vol.
Tasting notes
- Color: Straw yellow with greenish highlights.
- Aroma: Notes of boxwood and hay, enriched with hints of apricot and bergamot.
- Taste: Mineral entry, clean and fresh sip, with a pleasant softness.
Possible pairings
Ideal with seafood-based first courses, risottos, and Mediterranean cuisine dishes.
