Description
History
The Pira family has been a family of winegrowers and wine producers in Piedmont for several generations. Gigi Pira supported the importance of vineyard selection for the production of a high quality wine and continued to produce wine following the most ancient traditions. After his death, production continuity was guaranteed by his daughter Chiara Boschis, who produces high quality Barolo with the help of her brother Giorgio. Their production has received accolades such as the score of 100/100 for some vintages of Barolo.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red color with garnet hues. On the nose the hints refer to red fruit (berries and cherries), to a floral component (roses and violets) and finally a spicy note of balsamic herbs. In the mouth it is full-bodied, soft, with the right tannins, sapid and fresh. Long and persistent finish. In combination it is excellent with first courses with meat sauce such as meat sauce, mushrooms, aged cheeses and game.
Possible combinations
It goes well with red meat dishes, game, mushrooms and aged cheeses. It is perfect with Piedmontese dishes such as braised beef in Barolo wine and white truffle, but it also goes well with pappardelle with wild boar sauce or grilled beef fillet.
