The Scarzello winery is located in the heart of the Piedmont wine region, precisely in Barolo, in the province of Cuneo. Founded in 1945 by Francesco Scarzello, the company began producing wine with the harvest of grapes from the family’s vineyards.
In the 1980s, Francesco’s children, Federico and Emanuela, joined the company and brought a new impetus to wine production, introducing new techniques and modernizing the company. Today, the third generation of the Scarzello family runs the company and produces some of the best wines in Piedmont.
After fermentation, the wine rests for 8 months in large 25 hectoliter oak barrels and in 500 liter wooden barrels. Subsequently, it is bottled and further refines for 6 months directly in the bottle.
Ruby red colour. On the nose, notes of crunchy fruit are perceived, gradually enriched by salty and tertiary nuances. On the palate, the wine has a good body, is broad and rounded, and presents a harmonious, fresh and tasty sip. The finish is characterized by a pleasant balsamic flavour.
It can be combined with tasty first courses seasoned with ragù or wild boar ragù, roasts and grilled red meat, red meat and medium-aged cheeses.
