Description
History
The company was born from the desire, matured over the years: to be able to produce a great Syrah through the peasant tradition of the Amerighi family. To achieve this objective an area of Cortona closed called Poggiobello di Farneta has been identified, and within it, two well-exposed hills to the south-south-west, enclosed between an old gravel road to the west, a wood to the south and the ridge of the hills to the east to close the horizon. The geological and climatic investigations carried out on the farm then confirmed that this was the terroir we were looking for to plant the clones and our selections of Syrah, carefully chosen in the Rhone Valley. The management of the vineyard follows the dictates of natural viticulture and biodynamic agriculture, all this to be able to bring the healthy grapes to maturity and to allow it to be vinified with the total absence of correctives and chemical products.

Production method
After the harvest, the grapes are worked to separate the bunches from the stems and some parts are left whole while others are lightly crushed with the feet and then placed by hand in small concrete tanks. Fermentation occurs naturally, without temperature control. Subsequently, the wine matures for 14 months in wooden barrels and concrete tanks, and is finally bottled without being filtered or stabilized.

Tasting notes
Intense dark ruby red colour. On the nose black pepper, tobacco, graphite, red fruits such as blueberry. In the mouth intense, pure, good tactility, long, tannins in the right measure, light final note. Overall great balance. It can be combined with first and second courses of red meat, game, mushrooms, but also for meditation.
Possible combinations
There are mainly hints of spices and red fruits which, during their stay in the cellar, take on a darker tone and are enriched with pleasant balsamic notes. On the palate, distinct and complex flavors of red fruits and spices are appreciated, accompanied by a pleasant tannin which will diminish over time.
