History
AgriPunica is a joint venture born from the vision of Tenuta San Guido di Sassicaia, the Cantina di Santadi, its president Antonio Pilloni and the oenologist Giacomo Tachis. The company was created with the vision of creating an extraordinary wine in Sardinia on the advice of the oenologist Tachis, who had previously identified the potential of the area.

Production method
The grapes are harvested strictly by hand to preserve their quality. Fermentation in contact with the skins takes place in vats at a controlled temperature of 25-30°C which lasts about 15 days. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and is then placed in French oak barriques for aging which lasts 15 months and for another 7-8 directly in the bottle.

Tasting notes
Intense ruby red colour. On the nose notes of black cherry, raspberry, blackberry and mulberry, eucalyptus balanced by notes of spices such as sweet tobacco and vanilla. In the mouth it is soft, velvety and elegant, with ripe tannins and very balanced acidity. Long and pleasant finish.
Possible combinations
Montessu is perfect in combination with rich and substantial first courses with meat sauces or with local Sardinian specialties such as roast suckling pig and other roasted meats, or semi-mature Sardinian pecorino or other selections of semi-mature and/or tasty cheeses. Very pleasant to consume also by the glass.
