Description
History
The Cortese family is one of the historic estates of Barbaresco, located on the renowned Rabajà hill—one of the finest crus of the entire appellation. Their philosophy emphasises traditional winemaking with long macerations and ageing in large oak casks. The 2021 vintage is beautifully balanced, offering clarity of fruit, vibrant acidity and exceptional harmony—qualities magnified in the Magnum format.

Vinification
Traditional fermentation in stainless steel with extended maceration. Ageing in large Slavonian oak casks for about two years, followed by bottle refinement. The style is classic, elegant and true to Barbaresco tradition.

Tasting notes
Bright garnet colour. Aromas of rose, violet, crunchy red berries, black tea, licorice and subtle balsamic tones. On the palate it is elegant and focused, with refined tannins, lively acidity and a long, savoury finish. The Magnum format enhances aromatic precision and longevity.
Food pairings
Excellent with braised meats, roasted beef, game, porcini mushrooms, agnolotti del plin, aged cheeses and the richer dishes of Piedmont cuisine. Perfect as a centrepiece for an important dinner or for long-term cellaring.
