Description
History
Initially the production was focused on table wine which was sold in bulk, but with the advent of the Gattinara DOC in 1967 the wine began to be bottled with the label that still characterizes the company today. In 1990 the Gattinara obtained DOCG recognition and in 1991 the management of the company passed to the son of Mauro Franchino, who had already been actively working in the company for years. With the arrival of Mauro in the company, a modernization of the machinery began, but the attention was always maintained for the production of wines that best express the characteristics of the territory. In 2018 the company passed to the third generation represented by the grandson of Mauro Franchino, Alberto Raviciotti, who continues to modernize the company and the vineyards, always maintaining the tradition of the wines that have characterized the company since its inception.

Tasting notes
Intense garnet red colour. On the nose this wine is deep, austere and territorial, with hints of licorice root, undergrowth, dry leaves, small red fruit jam, humus and withered flowers. On the other hand, the taste is robust, intense and noble, characterized by an elegant spiciness, a great minerality, a taut freshness and a long persistence.
Possible combinations
It goes perfectly with red meat or game dishes, grilled or stewed and also with medium-aged cheeses.
