Description
History
The name Quintodecimo is a tribute to the very ancient history of Mirabella Eclano, where the cellar is located today. Aeclanum was a settlement on the Appian Way; in the second century AD it becomes a Roman colony, but is subsequently annexed to the Duchy of Benevento under the dominion of the Longobards. In 663 it will be destroyed by the Greek army of Constans II and called Quintum Decimum because it is exactly 15 miles from Benevento. The city subsequently moved over the centuries to the current hill taking the name of Mirabella Eclano; the link with the territory is therefore very important for this company and the family in order to enhance its characteristics and produce high quality wines. The reference region is Irpinia, a unique region crossed by the Apennine ridge where therefore 6-800 m of altitude are reached and the region is affected by frequent rains, temperature variations, harsh winters and mild summers.

Tasting notes
Intense straw yellow colour. On the nose, the bouquet evokes the essence of linden leaves, the aroma of acacia and aromatic herbs such as thyme, with a note of exotic fruit and caramelized citrus. The taste is refined, enveloping and vigorous, with a perfect balance accentuated by a fresh and salty finish that invites you to sip again. It marries beautifully with dishes based on grilled fish, crustaceans and molluscs as a condiment for first courses; it is equally interesting with fresh cheeses made from cow’s milk and vegetarian dishes.
Possible combinations
Excellent on fine white meats or tasty and medium-sized fish; the wine has great freshness and minerality that allow it to hold up even with intense flavors.
