Description
History
The Moussé family has cultivated vineyards in Cuisles, in the Vallée de la Marne, for more than twelve generations. Today, Cédric Moussé leads the estate with a sustainable and low-intervention approach focused on expressing the unique identity of Pinot Meunier. L’Esquisse was created by blending fruit from the estate’s youngest vines and recently planted parcels, offering a vibrant and approachable expression of the domaine.
Grape variety
76% Pinot Meunier, 24% Pinot Noir.
Vinification
The grapes come from vineyards in Cuisles, Jonquery and Châtillon-sur-Marne, planted on clay, sandy clay, green clay and limestone marl soils. They are hand-harvested in 15 kg crates to preserve fruit quality. Full malolactic fermentation is followed by 18 months of ageing on the lees. After disgorgement, the wine receives an Extra Brut dosage of 2 g/L, preserving its freshness, purity and mineral precision.
Alcohol content
12.5%.
Tasting notes
Bright golden yellow with a fine, persistent mousse. The bouquet reveals crisp apple, citrus, white orchard fruit and delicate notes of fresh bread. On the palate it is lively, fresh and saline, combining elegant texture with vibrant fruit and a long, mineral finish. Designed to be enjoyed young, it stands out for its remarkable drinkability and balance.
Food pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, sushi, seafood tartare, fish carpaccio, white fish, delicate charcuterie, almonds, mixed nuts and fresh cheeses. Its freshness also makes it an excellent match for light starters and summer cuisine.
