Description
History
Tenuta Benedetta is a small company that stands on the slopes of Etna born to enhance the oenological heritage of the region. Daniele Noli and his wife Laura lead this family business that bears the name of their daughter Benedetta. Daniele is a pharmacist but he inherited his father’s passion for wine and therefore graduated in viticulture and oenology to take care of the production, Laura instead helps him in the administrative part. There are three vineyards within the company from which the three unique lines are obtained: Vigna Benedetta, Vigna Laura and Vigna Mariagrazia. Vigna Laura is made up of vineyards dating back to the early 1900s planted with saplings. Vigna Benedetta is the only vineyard planted with Sangiovese in the entire Etna area and Vigna Mariagrazia is a Carricante vineyard.

Production method
The vineyards are located at an altitude of 650 m a.s.l. on soils of volcanic origin; all the vines were planted between 1910 and 1934. The grapes are harvested by hand in October; after destemming and soft pressing, these are sent for alcoholic fermentation in truncated cone-shaped French oak vats. The refinement of the wine is carried out in 500 l second passage French oak tonneaux for a duration of approximately 13 months.

Tasting notes
It has a ruby color with purple hues. On the nose notes of licorice spice, black pepper, tobacco with important sensations of ash, graphite, lava and salty hints. Ripe black fruit such as blackberries and blueberries and floral notes of violets, with balsamic hints on the finish. In the mouth it is broad, vibrant, soft and complex, with a good structure, with a fresh acidity and silky tannins. The finish is long, unforgettable which returns on notes of licorice and ash.
Possible combinations
Rosso di Laura is a great wine that is the expression of a wonderful territory like that of Etna. It is a candidate to be a meditation wine par excellence, especially if left to age for a few years in the bottle.
